    The sensible heat ratio is defined as the sensible cooling capacity divided by the total cooling capacity. In air conditioning systems, the sensible cooling capacity is used to lower the air temperature, while the latent cooling capacity is used to remove humidity. For data center environments, since electronic equipment generates only sensible heat and the need for dehumidification is extremely low, air conditioners with higher sensible heat ratios exhibit greater energy efficiency in such settings.

    Compared with comfort air conditioners of the same cooling capacity, TAC data center-specific air conditioners have a circulating air volume that is approximately twice as large. The increased air volume leads to a reduction in enthalpy difference; consequently, these units typically operate under conditions with a relatively high sensible heat ratio—precisely matching the load characteristics of data centers and enabling significant energy savings and reduced operational costs.
