China Unicom primarily operates fixed-line communication services, mobile communication services, domestic and international telecommunications infrastructure services, satellite-based international dedicated line services, data communication services, network access services, and a variety of value-added telecom services, as well as system integration services related to communications and information businesses. On April 28, 2009, China Unicom launched a brand-new, comprehensive service brand called “Wo,” which embodies Unicom’s consistent commitment to innovative service concepts and provides all-around support for individual customers, household customers, and corporate clients.

China Unicom boasts a modern telecommunications network that covers the entire country and connects to the world. It is actively promoting broadbandization of both fixed-line and mobile networks, and is vigorously implementing the “Broadband China” strategy at the enterprise level, providing comprehensive, high-quality information and communication services to a wide range of users. As a “dual-4G” operator holding licenses for both TD-LTE and LTE FDD, China Unicom has entered a new stage of 4G development.

2018 marked the inaugural year for implementing the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the 40th anniversary of reform and opening-up, and a pivotal year for securing a decisive victory in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and seamlessly linking the past with the future as we carry out the 13th Five-Year Plan. It also represented a new starting point and a fresh beginning for China Unicom following its mixed-ownership reform. China Unicom will deeply implement its strategy of focusing on innovation and cooperation, further deepen its mixed-ownership reform, and wholeheartedly promote internet-based operations, thereby forging a “Five New” China Unicom characterized by new genes, new governance, new operations, new momentum, and a new ecosystem.
