Recently, in order to implement the green development concept proposed at the Fifth Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee and accelerate the pilot work on green data centers, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State Administration of Government Offices, and the National Energy Administration jointly convened the “National Green Data Center Pilot Work Promotion Meeting and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Green Data Center Collaborative Development Forum” in Langfang City, Hebei Province. The meeting was attended by representatives from 14 national green data center pilot regions, 84 pilot units, and relevant technology and service providers. The conference consisted of a main forum, a sub-forum on green management, and a sub-forum on green technologies. A representative from the Department of Energy Conservation and Comprehensive Utilization of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology delivered a speech.

In his speech, the official from the Energy Conservation and Comprehensive Utilization Division of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology emphasized the necessity of launching pilot projects for green data centers, outlined the next steps and key tasks, and called on all pilot regions and units to creatively carry out the establishment work. The meeting also disseminated relevant standards for green data centers, shared outstanding case studies of green data centers, and facilitated exchanges of technical and management experiences in this field. During the meeting, the Hebei Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology and key enterprises from Langfang City signed memoranda of cooperation respectively with the China Electronics Society and the Zhongguancun Alliance for Circular Economy and Reverse Logistics Development of Electronic Products.
After the meeting, the delegates visited on-site data centers including Huawei Technical Services Co., Ltd., Runze Technology Development Co., Ltd., and China Unicom Cloud Data Langfang Branch.
Next, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will advance pilot monitoring efforts for green data centers, strengthen guidance on the establishment of green data center pilots, promote advanced and applicable technologies and management practices, conduct evaluations of green data centers, and comprehensively enhance the energy-saving and environmental protection performance of data centers.
